Bethan Hemus BA (Hons) Art & Design Bethan Hemus is a concept-led multidisciplinary artist working at the intersections of trauma, resistance and repair. She uses humour, ambiguity, and material play to unpick power structures and imagine other possibilities. Her practice is driven by personal experience and a deep curiosity about how we break, mend and adapt. Working intuitively across media, from the layered tactility of printmaking to the intimacy of textiles and the immersive possibilities of installation, she allows each idea to find its own voice. Her most recent discipline focus is carpet making, because soft materials can hold hard ideas. Bethan is intrigued by paradox and often crafts ambiguous work that invites others to question, witness and co-create. Play and humour are central to her artistic process: not just for levity, but as sharp tools of provocation.
