PotLuck Collective
Towards the end of last academic year I invited peers from the course to create a collective together. I picked this up again in October and we had several meetings to discuss what we wanted to do together.
After reflecting on the name for a few weeks we settled on 'PotLuck'.
We feel like our art feeds us and our community.
Everyone is welcome to bring their own art flavour to the collective and our offerings will be richer and more nourishing for that diversity and collaboration.
We also feel it reflects our politics and values of wanting to build a bigger table not a higher wall.
We have plans to create a zine and to host music events, fundraisers, pop up stalls and workshops throughout the year and are meeting regularly to develop our ideas.
I secured the domain name www.potluckcollective.co.uk for us and am researching blog and website design software.
We've already reached out to some venues and have been offered free space to curate a group show in a licenced space where we can host live music.
I am connecting with a handful of folks to develop our visual identity and create some images and logos that we can start putting up throughout the city and using in our promo material.
We have invited a number of ex alumni to be involved and they've all agreed. We are going to hold a whole team meet end of January to discuss everything and delegate roles.
