Cold working glass
I cracked open my glass casts only to see that I had made a mistake in my frit calculations and added about half the glass needed to fill the cavities in each and every one.
Major sad times.
However, it was really positive to see that I can get the lost wax method of casting to work here which gives me hope for my next larger scale casting project; the glass wishbone.
I tried some cold working with both the wet grinding wheel and also a bunch of different tool bits attached to a Dremel drill.
Neither gave me the end effect I want which is gloss and transparent. If anything my cold working efforts only scuffed and mattified the surfaces I worked with. I have done some research and will try applying a heat polish. in the kiln as an an after treatment once my glass wishbone is fired.
