High Fidelity: Mix tape rules
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby is a novel about Rob Fleming, a 35-year-old record store owner who, after being dumped by his girlfriend Laura, re-evaluates his life by making lists of his "top five" everything, especially his past relationships. The story explores his obsession with music and lists, his immaturity in relationships, and his journey towards self-improvement and a more committed future with Laura.
It was later successfully translated into a film featuring John Cusack and Jack Black.
