Leicester Open Awards 2025

I won 2 prizes at the recent Leicester Open Show.

"IAMPARTOFALLIHAVEMET" won the adult category award from Leicester Print Workshop and "Who's in charge?" won one of the showcase awards from LCB Depot.

I feel grateful beyond words for the generous offer to print with the folks at Leicester Print Workshop and also the opportunity to exhibit at LCB Depot later this year. Winning these prizes means a lot to me, and it's a great motivator to keep creating.

I would be lying if I said that I had never felt insecure or anxious about my recent choice to carve out a career as an artist; worrying whether it was self indulgent, naïve and or irresponsible.

Experiences like this make it feel infinitely more possible. It feels like my career is gathering momentum now and thats exciting. These awards, my upcoming exhibitions, plus now a solo show later this year, stands me in really good stead for winning an arts practise bid and beyond post graduation.

I feel grateful that the judges and organisers selected my work.

And I feel grateful for the community that supports me and believes in me and my art.

I just need to keep making good work. Head in the clouds, feet on the ground.
