Rosa Rauscher: peer inspiration and next steps
Rauscher is a successful artisan rug maker from Amsterdam. She has a clear voice and is especially talented at colour theory. It's inspiring to see another contemporary artist making a living from fine art rug making. I really feel like I've found my practice with tufting. My plan is to submit a funding bid soon which is part a funded creative practice application and part a rug tufting business start up application. There isn't a contemporary studio or practitioner offering this locally currently and I am interested to see if I could make it a commercial success.
